The Main House |
The Maison de l'Orchidee is a Masters Vignernon house built in the 1700s. Many of the original features have been preserved to retain the overall character of the building, while updating the main facilities to a modern standard for bed and breakfast, Chambre D'hotes. All wooden doors and skirting's help to give the feeling of history. Centrally heated in all rooms makes it ideal for later season breaks. The loft space has been fitted out with insulation, half a metre thick to keep in the heat when winter arrives. This makes it cosy for later season visits as October and November can be very attractive with the autumn colours. Its all so nice to return to a lovely warm room, and have a complimentary mug of hot chocolate (Winter bookings only November to March.) The depth of the walls construction, helps to maintain the temperature inside. Keeping it cooler in the summer months and retaining the heat in winter. All bedroom suites have large ceiling fans fitted to circulate the air in the warmer summer nights. Helping to give a pleasant nights sleep.

The Terrace on the front is Ideal for early morning Breakfast, or later summer nights planning your next excursion into the Carther country side. Why not relax with a bottle of wine and a light snack, while the Sun drifts down into the distance. Meals can be arranged please ask for details we can offer a package deal to suit most budgets. Try a hamper picnic option to enjoy while out . Contains Cooked chicken portions salad and dressings all cutlery and plates etc. Fresh bread all in a wicker basket. |

The main Dining room can be used by guests for their own food on request we can also offer use of a Microwave for heating up meals

The main entrance hall with original tiled floor. With the chess board ready for a game. Also the dvd library with a large collection of old and new entertainment. There is a wealth of local media for nearby attractions. Offering information for times and direction. There is also a local wine tasting company that takes tours around the region and a reasonable cost limited seats are available so you would have to book.
